‘06 F-250 King Ranch for only $12,995 with 138,000 miles. Only problem is ugly wheels, taillights and missing tailgate. It’s also a Florida truck, in the perfect color combo, has a sliding rear window and appears to be clean.

Oh and it’s a 6.0 so I might just be better off with a Tundra. But the Tundra isn’t 20 minutes away from my house.
Also, I really want a wallet made out of the same leather that those seats are made of. Beware of Jkm with a boxcutter.

Add clearcoat to the list of missing items.

Meh, it’s better than rust.

Are the 6.0s really that bad? The F350 I had as a work truck had one and had 220k light oil field miles on it.

King Ranch is the best.

I’ve heard so many different things about them being either really good or really bag.
It’s one of those situations where I guess I’m just going to have to see for myself.

I found a 2009 F-250 near me with 4WD, a manual, and a 5.4 gas V8 for around 16k and it made me wish I had the money. It even had a rubber floor, which I prefer.

How many miles were on it?
I too prefer rubber floors, for trucks at least.

Sounds nice! What color is it?
You don’t see too many trucks of that generation with manual transmission.

Fleet vehicle white, unfortunately. I think I could live with it though. I know the engine is reliable because I have several cargo vans in my work fleet with it.

Ah, I figured.
I’ve seen a lot of F-250 trucks for sale with brush guards that are out of serfvice from some government agency. But I’m just not sure if I could deal with fleet vehicle white on a truck.

as someone who works with leather, this stuff is the worst type for a car, especially a truck. It can look like that after 10k miles...and it matches nothing else inside. They didn’t even try to make the plastic panels in a similar color, or even half of it. I’ve never seen a King Ranch with black interior panels and that’d be the only choice for this to be considered good looking.
The only way to keep it looking like new is to top coat it when new, and that sort of defeats the purpose. They may do them differently now, haven’t seen one in a while. Chrysler does something similar, but it’s a better choice as it holds up better and looks good properly refurbished...though it still sucks doing and is hard to match.

Oh, and it’s a single-cab, in case I hadn’t mentioned it.

They’re great engines with a couple of very very common problems due to major design flaws. Once those flaws are fixed for not a small amount of money they can be great engines. The reason I would stay away from them is that it’s hard to know if they’ve been fixed or not, especially without lots of documentation. So if the seller exaggerates what’s been done, or hasn’t done everything it takes to fix these, you’re likely running on a ticking time bomb, and if nothing has been done at all you’ll spend nearly the selling price of the truck on “bullet proofing” the engine, at which point a slightly older 7.3, or a newer 6.4 with much less problems become better deals.

Some 6 liters are doing well, some aren’t. Find one that’s running nicely and do the bulletproofing upgrades to it and it’s good to go.
I was looking at 6 liter trucks when I stumbled upon a really good 7.3 and snapped it up for crazy cheap.

Take the seats and trim out, then take out the carpet and power wash that sucker. (it’s what I did over the weekend).
And take a serious leather cleaning to those seats.
The missing tailgate is a problem. Those aren’t cheap.
